Those suffering from erectile dysfunction often wonder what the cause of it is – is it medical? Is it due to nerves? Well, perhaps it’s due to porn. In general, porn use has been on the increase for men of all ages and relationship status. A recent study by the IFS found 63% of married men admit to watching porn.
A recent study lead by Professor Gunter De Win (expert in Adolescent, Paediatric, and Reconstructive Urology at the Department of Urology, Antwerp University Hospital, Belgium), along with other prominent researchers, has found that watching greater amounts of pornography is linked to erectile dysfunction, along with being dissatisfied with sex.
Researchers from across Europe established an online questionnaire and a total of 3,267 men were asked a total of 118 questions about masturbation, porn and their sexual activity. This study included men of all ages, as well as those in relationships and those who are single. Of the men asked, the average porn usage was about 70 minutes per week, and over a third were more aroused watching porn than during their own sexual intercourse. Researchers used this data to try and calculate a link between porn usage and erectile dysfunction.
The results were striking, watching porn is correlated with erectile dysfunction.
There are a few reasons this can happen. Firstly, men may struggle to get aroused compared to watching porn. Secondly, men may find it hard to get an erection having ejaculated watching porn.
Over the long term, inadequate sexual intercourse can have serious consequences for the quality of a relationship. Many men try expensive and dangerous solutions to this such as penis pumps, pills and surgery. However, we have a more effective solution.
